Our History

tech109, Inc. was founded in April of 2011 and incorporated in July of 2011 by Larry and Michele Thompson of Galax, VA as a local resource for enterprise level IT support at small business prices. Larry is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer with an extensive background in information technology. He has worked for the Blue Ride Business Development Center in Sparta, NC as the Technology Manager, and most recently he worked for Virginia Tech as System Administrator under the Vice President of Administrative Services. His work for Virginia Tech includes support for the following departments: The Physical Plant, Planning Design and Construction, Virginia Tech Electrical Services, Environmental Health and Safety, The Power Plant, Mail Services, Printing Services, The Virginia Tech Airport, Fleet Services, and Parking Services.
